Low Cost Solar Panels

Discovering Low Cost Solar Panels

i am doing a project on physics. i want solar panels at low cost. please help me with some suggestions?

especially in tamil nadu

your best bet will be to look into home made panels. my son did this for his physics class also http://earths-renewable-energy.com/ they give you the list of needed materials and step by step how to. all parts can be bought from home depot or other hardware stores, total cost was way less than buying already made solar panels

I don’t have a suggestion for India in particular, but a general suggestion is to look into Amorphous Silicon thin-film panels. sunelec.com was selling them for 98 cents a watt a few weeks ago, and they sold out quickly. I believe they’re still out. The problem with this kind of panel is it has no durability; after a few years the output degrades markedly. It’s also only 1/3 to 1/2 as efficient as a crystalline silicon panel, so that means large areas for the same power. But it may be your lowest cost solution, for something that does not need to last.
